Anytime of the year is a perfect time to visit Port Wine Guest House in Vava'u, Tonga. Overall Tonga enjoys a climate that is extremely comfortable and pleasant year around. The an average annual daytime temperature is a comfortable 75ºF. In the summer, from December to April, the temperatures are warmer and more humid and the winter months from May to November are cooler and dryer.
We kindly ask that when outside Port Wine Guest House that you wear shorts or skirts below the knee and cover your arms. When in villages and town, women in particular need to take care when sitting down to ensure that no one can see up their skirts.
Tongan law prohibits any person from appearing in a public place without a shirt, so most Tongans swim fully clothed. If you want to swim the Tongan way, and protect your skin, you can wear shorts and a tshirt when swimming.
The Electricity is 240 volts and 50 HZ, which is the same as Australia and New Zealand. Sockets are three pronged, the upper two prongs being angled and flat, the lower prong being vertical and flat. We kindly ask that you consider the environment and do not use any unnecessary devices.
